The new Oxford Circus  designed by Atkins was referenced on the diagonal Shibuya crossing in Tokyo, Japan. By removing barriers and adding new traffic lights, the improvement of Oxford Circus aims to create more space for pedestrians and reduce a negative impact on vehicle traffic flows. This new model provides an example of that space with a little change could create a new system of social behavior.
